Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man and cited him for harassment of an animal control officer in the area of Fountain Park Sunday, Sept. 7.

While patrolling in the area the animal control officer had previously cited the man for having his dog off-leash in the park.

The man accused the officer of not applying the code consistently after she did not cite him for having his dog on an extended leash on two other occasions.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man and cited him for harassment of an animal control officer in the area of Fountain Park Sunday, Sept. 7.

While patrolling in the area the animal control officer had previously cited the man for having his dog off-leash in the park.

The man accused the officer of not applying the code consistently after she did not cite him for having his dog on an extended leash on two other occasions.

The officer told deputies the man was screaming, yelling and attempting to intimidate her in a public setting.

*On Sunday, Sept. 7, deputies received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 16000 block of Arrow Drive. Someone had entered the home while the residents were away and removed a television, jewelry, weapons and a pick-up truck. The property was valued at $20,000 and the truck approximately $23,000. A neighbor had previously called deputies and reported a garage door partially open and tools and gloves on the driveway. Deputies at that time found nothing amiss.

*On Friday, Sept. 5, a Fountain Hills woman reported she had received an email asking her to send money to a male subject she had met online.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 9, a resident of the 17000 block of Armour Circle reported seeing a male subject in her back yard looking at her pool equipment and an electrical equipment box. The man was dressed in black and was leaving the property by the time she got outside to question him. She thought he was an electrician completing work at the house. He drove away in a white vehicle.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 9, someone attempted to gain access to a residence in the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive by breaking the front door.

*On Wednesday, Sept. 10 a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for false reporting to law enforcement. She called to report a domestic violence assault after an altercation with her boyfriend. Both had been drinking and she admitted telling the story to deputies because she wanted him to leave.

*On Thursday, Sept. 11, deputies were called for a shoplifting report at the Fountain Hills Bashas’ store. Store personnel reported the man had left the store with a basket heading north across Palisades Boulevard. A shopping cart with $246 in merchandise from the store was recovered in the 16000 block of Almont Drive. Deputies are checking for fingerprints on a knife that fell from the suspect’s pocket as he crossed the parking lot.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 9, a resident of the 16000 block of Sullivan Drive reported someone had been in her home and stolen a necklace valued at $2,000. The resident had been away at the time of the theft.

*On Friday, Sept. 12, a woman reported her vehicle was struck by another car that left the scene. She was stopped eastbound on Shea at the intersection with Eagle Mountain Parkway at the time of the accident.

*On Thursday, Sept. 12, deputies made contact with a Fountain Hills woman walking in the middle of the street on Del Cambre Avenue. She had been drinking and was disrupting traffic as she walked down the street. She was arrested and cited for consuming alcohol in public and obstructing a public thoroughfare.

*On Thursday, Sept. 12, deputies responded to a report of a fight in the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive. Deputies heard loud talking, but not yelling, when they arrived and knocked on the door. No one responded and the lights were turned off. Deputies left the scene and about 30 minutes later returned when the original caller reported she had been threatened by the residents next door because she called the police. She declined to pursue the matter at this point.
