Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on domestic violence charges Sunday, May 4, at a residence in the 15000 block of Chicory Drive.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report that the man was being combative with his sons and had a gun, which he reportedly placed to his own head.

When deputies arrived they found the man sitting calmly in a recliner and said he was the man they were looking for. He remained calm while they secured weapons in the home.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on domestic violence charges Sunday, May 4, at a residence in the 15000 block of Chicory Drive.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report that the man was being combative with his sons and had a gun, which he reportedly placed to his own head.

When deputies arrived they found the man sitting calmly in a recliner and said he was the man they were looking for. He remained calm while they secured weapons in the home.

The man then began yelling at deputies and was uncooperative. Deputies were told he was on medication and had been drinking. He was checked by paramedics and cleared before he was booked into jail.

He faces charges of domestic violence assault, DV criminal damage and DV disorderly conduct.

*On Wednesday, May 14, a transient man was found at the Fountain Hills Fry’s parking lot driving a vehicle reported stolen in Glendale.

*On Saturday, May 3, a woman reported someone used her bank card to make purchases in Mexico totaling $340.

*On Friday, May 2, deputies received a report of prescription drugs missing from a medicine room at an assisted living facility in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains.

*On Monday, May 5, deputies were called to the scene of a minor vehicle accident after one driver left the scene near Golden Eagle and Palisades boulevards. The driver was located and cited for failure to remain at the scene, no proof of insurance and no insurance.

*On Thursday, May 8, deputies were called to a vehicle accident on Shea Boulevard west of Palisades. A vehicle traveling east on Shea was struck by a second vehicle as it made a right turn from a parking lot into traffic. The driver that pulled from the parking lot was cited for making an unsafe lane change.

*On Thursday, May 8, a man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in the Rio Verde Foothills area. He reportedly struck her with a closed hand during an argument and then removed batteries from phones so she could not call for help. Deputies responded after a call came from the address but the phone went dead.

*On Friday, May 9, deputies investigated a minor collision in a parking lot involving a Sheriff’s deputy. The deputy was backing from a parking space when they struck a smaller vehicle driving behind.

*On Sunday, May 11, deputies received two reports of criminal damage to vehicles in the 14000 block of Yerba Buena. Both vehicles had windows broken and one had damage to the steering column and a stereo was stolen.

*On Sunday, May 11, deputies responded to a report that a man had been beaten and robbed outside a bar on Parkview Avenue the previous night. The man reported he was struck in the head from behind and kicked when he was down. He said the incident was fuzzy and deputies could find no supporting information. The man, however, had an outstanding warrant from Mesa and was arrested and transported there.
