Sheriff’s deputies arrested a male juvenile resident of Fort McDowell after he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs while on the campus at Fountain Hills High School Thursday, April 10.

The suspect, age 17, was being escorted to the office by a campus security guard when he bent down to tie a shoe and the security guard observed him place something under a door mat.

After they moved into the office the guard checked under the door mat and found a small plastic baggie with a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a male juvenile resident of Fort McDowell after he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs while on the campus at Fountain Hills High School Thursday, April 10.

The suspect, age 17, was being escorted to the office by a campus security guard when he bent down to tie a shoe and the security guard observed him place something under a door mat.

After they moved into the office the guard checked under the door mat and found a small plastic baggie with a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

*On Thursday, March 27, a resident reported someone had removed a handgun from his vehicle that was parked in the 15000 block of Sunburst Drive. The gun has a value of $300.

*On Thursday, April 10, a Fountain Hills male juvenile had run away from his residence in the 16000 block of Sourdough Place.

*On Sunday, April 13, a resident reported someone had entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 14000 block of Yerba Buena Way and removed property valued at $455.

*On Saturday, April 12, deputies received a report that someone had removed three bicycles and a scooter with a total value of $940 from the front yard of a residence in the 17000 block of Calaveras Ave.

*On Thursday, April 3, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had used her personal identification to open a bank account and made online purchases.

*On Monday, April 14, a woman reported someone had used a rock and broken the glass on a doggy door insert for a sliding glass patio door. The incident occurred in the 16000 block of El Lago Blvd.

*On Wednesday, April 16, deputies were called to the campground at McDowell Mountain Park for a reported fight. Deputies located an injured man in a car near the campground and he told them he had been hit by a man at a neighboring campsite when he asked that they turn down music. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

In interviewing the other parties involved deputies determined that the injured man had made several trips to the other campsite during the evening and he appears to have been the aggressor in the incident with the second man responding in self-defense.

*On Friday, April 18, deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Palisades Boulevard just south of Palomino Boulevard. They found the driver sitting on the curb, uninjured. The motorist was traveling northbound on Palisades when he struck a guardrail and crossed to hit the curb of the center median, which spun the car in the opposite direction. Deputies arrested the driver for extreme DUI and underage consumption of alcohol.

*On Friday, April 18, a resident of the 14000 block of Caliente Drive reported someone stole a suitcase from the trunk of a vehicle parked in front of the residence.

*On Saturday, April 19, a resident reported someone had thrown rocks through the windows of a residence in the 13000 block of Cambria Drive.

*On Sunday, April 20, deputies received a report of a hit and run accident in the 15000 block of Greenhurst Drive. A vehicle had struck a parked vehicle, causing extensive damage, and then fled the area. Deputies found a bumper from the vehicle, but were unable to locate a suspect.
