Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on Wednesday, April 23, following a reported domestic disturbance.
Deputies responded to the area of Westby Drive and Ashbrook Wash after a woman reported the suspect was angry and hitting wall and cabinets after an argument between her and the man.
Deputies located the man running through Ashbrook Wash and apprehended him. After taking him into custody they found he was in possession of marijuana and a smoking pipe. He told deputies the marijuana was “medical,” but he did not have a medical marijuana card.
It was also learned that the man had an outstanding warrant with Scottsdale police. He faces new charges for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as domestic violence disorderly conduct.
*On Sunday, April 20, deputies received a report that someone had broken the window of a vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Yerba Buena.
*On Sunday, April 20, deputies investigated a single-vehicle accident at Tepee and Boulder drives. The driver was eastbound on Tepee when they lost control and skidded into landscaping and rolled the vehicle onto its side.
*On Saturday, April 19, a juvenile male was cited for underage consumption of alcohol after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.
*On Saturday, April 19, deputies found an abandoned vehicle in the 17000 block of Tejon Drive. It was towed when deputies were unable to locate the registered owner of the vehicle.
*On Wednesday, April 23, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for shoplifting beer from a drug store in the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard. The man sat down outside the store to drink the beer and was stopped by deputies walking down the street nearby.
*On Tuesday, April 22, deputies received a report that someone had stolen a suitcase containing a bag of clothing from a vehicle parked at a hotel. The suspect attempted to return the suitcase and clothing items to the Target store in Fountain Hills where he was recorded on video surveillance.
*On Friday, April 25, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend at a home in the 14000 block of Boxwood Lane. A physical altercation occurred after the two had an argument about the woman moving out of the house.
*On Wednesday, April 23, a Fountain Hills man reported he received a threatening letter in the mail. He believes the letter was sent from a cousin in New Mexico regarding the distribution of the estate of their late aunt.
*On Saturday, April 26, a Fountain Hills woman was cited for false reporting after she called to report her brother was assaulting other people at a residence in the 17000 block of Cayuga Lane.
*On Sunday, April 27, a man was arrested for DUI and felony flight after he fled a deputy trying to stop him in the parking lot of a bar in the 16000 block of Parkview Avenue. The man drove around the building twice attempting to get away before he lost control of the vehicle, striking a median a tree, wall and dumpster.
*On Sunday, April 27, deputies cited a Peoria woman who works in Fountain Hills for reckless driving. She was followed by a deputy traveling 68 miles per hour where the speed limit is 45, and she was also speeding through residential streets where the speed limit is 25 miles per hour.
