Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Kentucky man on drug charges after they responded to a report of a group of people loitering near the Circle K at Saguaro and Shea boulevards.

The group had dispersed by the time deputies arrived, but they received a call later that two of the men had returned.

The two reported they were working for a company selling books in the community. They were told they could not do that without a permit from the town.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Kentucky man on drug charges after they responded to a report of a group of people loitering near the Circle K at Saguaro and Shea boulevards.

The group had dispersed by the time deputies arrived, but they received a call later that two of the men had returned.

The two reported they were working for a company selling books in the community. They were told they could not do that without a permit from the town.

During the course of the conversation the Kentucky man seemed to be under the influence of drugs and a background check found an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was also found to be in possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and booked into jail.

The man was also cited for false reporting to an officer and trespassing.

The second man was cited for trespassing and refusing to leave when asked by the store manager.

*On Friday, Jan. 31, deputies received a report from a resident of the 14000 block of Kings Way that someone had broken into their pick-up truck and removed property valued at approximately $335. A separate report from the same neighborhood that day had a second vehicle broken into with $125 in property stolen.

*On Friday, Feb. 7, a Fountain Hills resident reported credit card fraud amounting to $19,000. They became aware of the incident when someone came to the door regarding a $10,000 payment.

On Wednesday, Feb. 19, deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 17000 block of Baca Way. Deputies assisted a probation officer on the scene with a suspect in violation of probation by possessing a hand gun.

*On Friday, Feb. 21, deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision at El Lago Boulevard and Echo Hill. A motorist westbound was watching for street signs when the vehicle in front slowed and then stopped. He could not stop and collided with the vehicle. The driver was cited for failure to control his vehicle to avoid a collision and failure to provide proof of insurance.

*On Saturday, Feb. 22, a resident reported a bicycle valued at $175 stolen from outside a store in the 16000 block of El Pueblo Blvd. The bicycle was not secured.

*On Saturday, Feb. 22, deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Shea Boulevard near Monterey Drive. A vehicle traveling west on Shea collided with a vehicle crossing from southbound Monterey to eastbound Shea. A witness reported the westbound motorist was driving recklessly on the Beeline Highway between Gilbert Road and Shea. That driver was cited for failure to control his speed and avoid a collision.

*On Monday, Feb. 24, a 17-year-old male was injured when he was struck by a car as he crossed Palisades Boulevard near Wendover Drive. It was about 6:30 a.m. and the youth was dressed in dark clothing and not visible in time to the westbound driver. The youth was taken to the hospital with a broken pelvis.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 25, deputies investigated a collision at Avenue of the Fountains and Parkview Avenue. The driver of a westbound vehicle reported seeing the second vehicle stopped at the intersection and then it pulled out in front of him.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 25, a resident of the 15000 block of Tacony Drive reported property valued at $6,000 taken from a vehicle parked in the driveway. A window on the vehicle was broken.

*On Thursday, Feb. 27, deputies were called to a collision at Golden Eagle and Palisades boulevards. Two vehicles collided as they each attempted to make a turn at the intersection. A third vehicle passing through the intersection obscured the view of each driver as they turned and collided.

*On Thursday, Feb. 27, the Denny’s restaurant in Fountain Hills reported four male subjects and one female had a meal at the restaurant and left without paying the tab for $52.

*On Friday, Feb. 28, a motorist traveling east on Palisades Boulevard collided with a second eastbound vehicle as it slowed to make a turn into a business driveway.

*On Saturday, March 1, a resident reported that someone had broken the window of their vehicle using a rock and stole religious books valued at $67.

*On Saturday, March 1, deputies investigated a minor collision on Fountain Hills Boulevard near Muskrat Drive. A vehicle stopped for a school bus signal was struck from behind by a second vehicle.

*On Wednesday, Feb. 26, a Fountain Hills woman reported finding paper plates on her doorstep with inappropriate comments and drawings that would be considered pornographic.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 25, a resident in the 30000 block of North 161st Way reported someone had stolen items from his property valued at $53,000. The items included a boat trailer and several pontoons.

*On Wednesday, March 5, a woman was arrested after she was unable to pay cab fare from the Valley to Fountain Hills. The fare totaled $152. The woman also had two outstanding warrants for her arrest.
