Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man following a pursuit along Fountain Hills Boulevard and into a residential neighborhood on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Deputies were called by a woman reporting that her husband had assaulted her at a residence on Glenview Drive.

Deputies went to the residence but the man had fled the scene. A short time later a deputy returned to the area to see if the suspect had returned to the house. A vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s was seen and fled when the deputy attempted to stop it.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man following a pursuit along Fountain Hills Boulevard and into a residential neighborhood on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Deputies were called by a woman reporting that her husband had assaulted her at a residence on Glenview Drive.

Deputies went to the residence but the man had fled the scene. A short time later a deputy returned to the area to see if the suspect had returned to the house. A vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s was seen and fled when the deputy attempted to stop it.

The deputy pursued the vehicle from Montrose Drive onto northbound Fountain Hills Boulevard, onto Oxford Drive and Fairlynn Drive. During this time the suspect was driving at a high rate of speed in a reckless manner, according to the deputy’s report.

The suspect stopped his vehicle in the 14000 block of Fairlynn Drive and fled into the back yard of a home there when he was taken into custody by deputies.

The man was booked into jail for unlawful flight, extreme DUI and reckless driving.

*On Tuesday, Jan. 21, a man was arrested on drug charges at a home in the 16000 block of Almont Drive. A deputy on patrol observed a vehicle that appeared to be abandoned and found to have a false license plate. The deputy located the vehicle owner at a nearby residence and as he was being placed under arrest he attempted to flee and was found to be in possession of heroin. He was booked into jail for resisting arrest, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Friday, Jan. 24, a Fountain Hills resident reported someone had stolen three solar landscape lights with a total value of $12 from a home in the 14000 block of Briarwood Drive.

*On Thursday, Jan. 23, a Fountain Hills man was cited for a drug violation after he allegedly provided five prescription pills to a 15 year-old juvenile female. The girl was a friend of the man’s daughter and had known one another for some time. When the girl talked about feeling depressed the man provided her with five pills from an old prescription belonging to his sister. The girl took one pill. The man was cited for administering prescription drugs.

*On Saturday, Jan. 18, a Fountain Hills woman reported her ex-husband had contacted her by phone, violating a court order.

*On Friday, Jan. 24, a Phoenix man who was driving a cab reported a white female suspect had assaulted him and fled without paying a $174 fare. He had picked up the woman in Mesa and taken her to a campsite at McDowell Mountain Park. He said the woman threw a drink on him and punched him before fleeing. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect in the park.

*On Tuesday, Jan. 28, deputies responded to Golden Eagle Park after receiving a report of a woman sitting on a park bench smoking marijuana near a playground with children present. Deputies located a Phoenix woman smoking synthetic marijuana known as Spice. She was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs.

*On Thursday, Jan. 30 deputies received a report of a missing juvenile female, age 14. The girl left Fountain Hills High School and had not returned home by curfew.

*On Saturday, Feb. 1, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for criminal damage at a home in the 16000 block of Crystal Ridge. A man had called to report his wife was extremely intoxicated and was going through the house breaking things. She was arrested for domestic violence/criminal damage.
