Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies got into an altercation with a man they were attempting to take into custody on an outstanding felony warrant Thursday, Dec. 19.

Deputies received information that the suspect was in the area of the Fountain Hills Library. They confronted the man in the parking lot outside the library and he refused to cooperate and fought with deputies trying to arrest him.

In the course of the altercation the man received minor injuries as did one of the deputies.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies got into an altercation with a man they were attempting to take into custody on an outstanding felony warrant Thursday, Dec. 19.

Deputies received information that the suspect was in the area of the Fountain Hills Library. They confronted the man in the parking lot outside the library and he refused to cooperate and fought with deputies trying to arrest him.

In the course of the altercation the man received minor injuries as did one of the deputies.

The suspect was transported to the hospital for observation due to possible injuries, and was taken into custody when he was released. He faces additional charges of resisting arrest.

*On Friday, Nov. 29, a Fountain Hills woman reported an incident involving fraud after she received a phone call from a man identifying himself as associated with a computer company and asked for personal information and advised her to make a payment through an Internet pay site. The woman said she hung up the phone and called the Sheriff’s Office.

*On Friday, Dec. 6, a resident reported someone had broken out a window in their vehicle as it was parked in a lot in the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd.

*On Friday, Dec. 6, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone used her credit card information without authorization and made purchases totaling $140.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 5, a Fountain Hills man reported someone used his credit card information to make purchases online totaling $415.

*On Thursday, Dec. 19, a resident reported a burglary from a vehicle parked in the 10000 block of Appian Way. Property valued at $415 was taken from the vehicle, which was not locked.

*On Sunday, Dec. 22, a Fountain Hills man reported that someone stole a GPS unit from his vehicle parked in a shopping center parking lot in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard.

*On Sunday, Dec. 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported that someone removed a package that had been left at her front door. The contents had a value of $129.
