A Fountain Hills man faces possible charges after Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from frightened family members in the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive on Christmas Day.

Family members said the man was acting erratically and making threats and struck and broke a desk at the residence and barricaded himself inside.

He also reportedly made threats toward any fire department medical personnel that might be responding.

A Fountain Hills man faces possible charges after Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from frightened family members in the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive on Christmas Day.

Family members said the man was acting erratically and making threats and struck and broke a desk at the residence and barricaded himself inside.

He also reportedly made threats toward any fire department medical personnel that might be responding.

The man was taken into custody and faces possible charges for domestic violence criminal damage and making threats.

Family members said the man was having difficulty breathing and he was transported to a Scottsdale hospital for evaluation of a possible medical condition.

*On Sunday, Dec. 15, a resident of the 15000 block of Greene Valley Drive reported someone had strung toilet paper at her home and threw some type of substance on a vehicle parked at the home.

*On Saturday, Dec. 21, a Rio Verde man reported that someone had attempted to use his credit card information to transfer $600 via a wire transfer.

*On Sunday, Dec. 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had removed a jar containing money from her residence in the 16000 block of Bayfield Drive. The jar and money were returned after the incident was reported.

*On Thursday, Dec. 26, deputies investigated a traffic accident on Saguaro Boulevard at La Montana Drive. A vehicle making a turn from westbound La Montana to southbound Saguaro collided with a vehicle traveling south on Saguaro. The driver was cited for failure to yield at a stop.

*On Thursday, Dec. 26, deputies were called to a hotel in the 17000 block of Shea Boulevard where they subsequently arrested a woman on drug possession charges. She was arrested on two counts each for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. After her arrest she became combative, so escape and resisting arrest were added to the charges.

*On Saturday, Dec. 28, a resident reported that someone had taken a modem from a vehicle parked in the 15000 block of Mustang Drive.

*On Saturday, Dec. 28, a woman reported a wallet taken from a vehicle parked in the 15000 block of Mustang Drive.

*On Saturday, Dec. 28, a Fountain Hills woman reported her 16-year-old son as a runaway from residence in the 14000 block of Edgeworth Drive.

*On Sunday, Dec. 29, a Chandler man was arrested and cited for excessive speed near Fountain Hills and Palisades boulevards. He was reportedly traveling 60 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35.

*On Saturday, Dec. 7, deputies investigated a traffic accident involving two vehicles at Palisades Boulevard and Hampstead Drive. A vehicle making a left had turn from Palisades to Hampstead was struck by a vehicle southbound from Hampstead onto Palisades. The driver of the southbound vehicle refused to talk with deputies, but the incident was reported by witnesses. He was cited for failure to stop, failure to control speed, no proof of insurance and registration not in vehicle.

*On Monday, Dec. 23, a resident in the 16000 block of Bobwhite Way in Rio Verde reported motorbikes disturbing the neighborhood.

*On Monday, Dec. 30, a man reported a theft from his U-Haul truck as he was moving into a condo in the 16000 block of El Lago Boulevard. He told deputies he was told by a woman who had rented him the unit that he could not move in because she did not like the way he looked. She was seen getting into the cab of the truck and removing a map book. Deputies told the man they could not help with the refusal to let him move in, but did take a report on the theft, setting the value of the book at $128 based on the cost of insurance that the book was provided with. He was advised to speak with a real estate attorney.

*On Tuesday, Dec. 31, a Fountain Hills woman reported her 13-year-old daughter missing from their home in the 17000 of Calle Del Oro.

*On Tuesday, Dec. 31, a Mesa woman was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy on the Beeline Highway near Gilbert Road. She traveled for some distance after the deputy activated emergency lights and used his siren to get her attention. She faces charges of unlawful flight and failure/refusal to provide identification.

*On Saturday, Dec. 21, a Fountain Hills woman reported her 16-year-old daughter missing from her residence in the 12000 block of Chama Drive.

*On Monday, Dec. 30, deputies were called to a hit-and-run vehicle collision at Grande Boulevard and Del Cambre Avenue. A vehicle traveling east on Grande was turning left onto Del Cambre when it was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Grande. The driver of the westbound vehicle got out of his car, but left the scene as the woman driving the other vehicle was searching for her insurance information.

*On Thursday, Jan. 2, a Fountain Hills man reported someone used his credit card information to make an online purchase from a department store. The purchase was for $29.

*On Saturday, Jan. 4, a Glendale man was arrested for DUI near Saguaro and Shea boulevards. A deputy followed the man for about a half mile with his emergency lights on before the man stopped in a parking lot. The stop was made because the man was driving erratically.
