Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fort McDowell man on Tuesday, Oct. 1, for aggravated assault on a peace officer and aggravated assault on a firefighter.

Around 2 a.m. a deputy approached a man he saw in the parking lot outside a bar on Parkview Avenue. When the deputy approached the man to see if he needed assistance the man did not respond to the deputy’s questions.

The deputy called the Fire Department to get a medical evaluation of the man. The man became agitated when firefighters arrived, saying they had hurt him.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fort McDowell man on Tuesday, Oct. 1, for aggravated assault on a peace officer and aggravated assault on a firefighter.

Around 2 a.m. a deputy approached a man he saw in the parking lot outside a bar on Parkview Avenue. When the deputy approached the man to see if he needed assistance the man did not respond to the deputy’s questions.

The deputy called the Fire Department to get a medical evaluation of the man. The man became agitated when firefighters arrived, saying they had hurt him.

The man became argumentative and threw things at the firefighters and started kicking. He also kicked two deputies trying to restrain him.

The man was taken to the hospital for observation. He faces two counts of aggravated assault on the deputies and two counts of aggravated assault on the firefighters.

*On Monday, Sept. 23, a Fountain Hills man reported someone forged checks totaling $430 against his checking account.

*On Saturday, Sept. 28, a man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle accident near Palisades and Palomino boulevards. The man lost control of the motorcycle and struck the curb, throwing him from the vehicle. The man suffered a head laceration, according to the Sheriff’s deputy reporting on the incident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

*On Sunday, Sept. 15, a resident of the 14000 block of Ibsen Drive reported someone struck their vehicle parked in front of the residence. Deputies reported it appeared that someone had backed into the vehicle causing the front driver’s door to jam and not open.

*On Monday, Sept. 23, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had written several forged checks against her bank account. The checks totaled more than $1,400.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 24, deputies were called to take a report regarding a vehicle crashing into the canopy at the Comfort Inn on Shea Boulevard. The vehicle is unknown and management reports repairs will cost $50,000.

*On Monday, Sept. 30, a deputy made a traffic stop on a Tempe man near El Lago and Saguaro boulevards. The man was arrested for extreme DUI.

*On Wednesday, Sept. 25, a motorist traveling west on Parkview Drive struck the stop sign as they attempted to make a left turn onto Verde River Drive.

*On Monday, Sept. 30, deputies received a report from a contractor working on a home in the 11000 block of Pinto Drive that a woman was trespassing at the property. Deputies found the woman was a former owner who had been foreclosed upon at the house. She said she was attempting to remove personal belongings.

*On Monday, Sept. 30, a motorist traveling south on McDowell Mountain Road struck a cow in the roadway. The injured cow was not located.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 1, a Mesa man was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing at a Fountain Hills residence. The man was taken into custody at a traffic stop after deputies received a report he was arguing with a resident over his girlfriend, the daughter of the homeowner.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 2, a man reported someone broke into his vehicle parked in the 13000 block of Hamilton Drive and stole iPhone 5 units with a total value of $700.

*On Saturday, Oct. 12, a Fountain Hills woman reported her aunt had entered her residence without permission, and a tire on the woman’s vehicle was found slashed after the aunt left.

*On Friday, Sept. 27, deputies investigated a traffic accident at Saguaro and Grande boulevards. According to a witness a vehicle traveling south on Saguaro made a left turn to Grande when it was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Saguaro. The driver of the vehicle making the turn, and a passenger in the second, northbound vehicle were transported to the hospital. Deputies cited the woman for making an unsafe turn and failing to control her speed.

*On Friday, Sept. 27, a Fountain Hills woman reported seeing a man peering into her bedroom window in the 14000 block of Honeysuckle Drive.

*On Saturday, Sept. 28, a woman was not injured when the vehicle she was operating went off the roadway and rolled over in the 17000 block of Shea Boulevard.

*On Saturday, Sept. 28, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for resisting arrest. Deputies responded to a report of a prowler at a residence on Ashbrook Drive. When in the area they received a second report of a man pounding on the door of a home a few blocks away. They located the man hiding in the bushes and attempted to take him into custody. The man refused deputies’ commands and began fighting as they apprehended him. The man said he was drunk and walking home from the bar and couldn’t locate his residence.

*On Thursday, Oct. 3, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen the silver from her home in the 15000 block of Lorma Lane. The silver, valued at $5,000, was last seen in December 2012.

*On Saturday, Oct. 5, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man and a Scottsdale man following a report from the Fountain Hills Target store. The two men were apparently attempting to get a refund on items they had just picked up in the store. The two face charges of a fraudulent scheme as well as possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.
