Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies looking for a suspect in a check forging case arrested a Fountain Hills woman in connection with that case as well as two others on drug charges Wednesday, Oct. 16.

A deputy stopped a vehicle known to belong to the woman they were looking for regarding the forgery. The stop was made near Summerhill Boulevard and Miramonte Way.

During the course of the traffic stop the woman driving admitted to forging a check on the bank account of her mother.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies looking for a suspect in a check forging case arrested a Fountain Hills woman in connection with that case as well as two others on drug charges Wednesday, Oct. 16.

A deputy stopped a vehicle known to belong to the woman they were looking for regarding the forgery. The stop was made near Summerhill Boulevard and Miramonte Way.

During the course of the traffic stop the woman driving admitted to forging a check on the bank account of her mother.

Deputies also found that she was in possession of narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia. Two passengers in the vehicle, a Phoenix man and a woman from Oregon, were also arrested on possession charges related to narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The woman was also charged with 10 counts of theft and identity theft related to the forgery case.

*On Monday, Oct. 7, deputies were called to investigate a hit-and-run traffic accident in the 16000 block of Shea Boulevard in a parking lot. Deputies located the suspected driver, who said she did not know she had struck the second vehicle. She provided insurance information to exchange with the other vehicle owner.

*On Sunday, Oct. 20, deputies responded to a report of an injured, unresponsive woman in the driveway of a home in the 11000 block of Indian Wells Drive. The homeowner called deputies when the woman was non-responsive. She was taken to a Valley hospital for a possible overdose or reaction to medication.

*On Monday, Oct. 21, deputies received a report of an unidentified male suspect removing two 18-packs of beer from a Fountain Hills convenience store.

*On Monday, Oct. 21, The Town of Fountain Hills reported tools valued at $725 taken from a parking lot at Del Cambre and Alamosa avenues. The tools were set aside while tree branches were removed.

*On Monday, Oct. 21, a deputy in Fountain Hills became involved in a traffic pursuit with a vehicle after he attempted to make a traffic stop on El Pueblo Boulevard. The vehicle fled onto the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation at which point the deputy ceased pursuit. Fort McDowell Police had a report of the vehicle being stolen Oct. 15, however, the owner did not wish to take any action.

*On Monday, Oct. 21, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for drunken disturbance when she was found walking in the traffic lanes of Palisades Boulevard near Westby Drive. She was cited for obstruction of a public thoroughfare.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 22, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, after receiving a report they believed someone was selling drugs from a parking lot.

*On Thursday, Oct. 17, a woman reported her juvenile daughter had received a harassing, threatening message via Instagram from another juvenile female. Deputies learned that the suspect juvenile had just been taken to Payson to live with her father and stepmother.

*On Friday, Oct. 25, a resident reported a bicycle stolen from a garage in the 13000 block of Cambria Drive.

*On Thursday, Oct. 24, deputies investigated a vehicle collision on Saguaro Boulevard at El Lago Boulevard. A Fountain Hills woman was pulling from a business driveway making a left turn to head south on Saguaro when she collided with a vehicle traveling southbound on Saguaro. The woman said she did not see the other vehicle and was cited for failure to yield.

*On Monday, Oct. 21, deputies received a report from the Fountain Hills Target store about the theft of $1,700 in merchandise. Store surveillance video showed a woman enter the store and collect items in a shopping cart, including four televisions and leave it in a particular location. The video shows she is joined by a man who is an apparent accomplice, and the cart is pushed through an exit door at the rear of the store. When store personnel arrived at the doorway there was no one there.

*On Friday, Oct. 11, deputies investigated a vehicle accident on Fountain Hills Boulevard. A woman backed from her driveway and turned to head south when she was struck from behind by a woman driving a second vehicle. Both women were taken to hospitals for evaluation of injuries. Deputies were investigating if alcohol was involved.

*On Sunday, Oct. 20, a Mesa man was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop when he failed to stop for a red light at Shea Boulevard and the Beeline Highway.

*On Sunday, Oct. 20, a Fountain Hills woman reported her 14-year-old daughter as a run-away.

*On Sunday, Oct. 20, a Fountain Hills resident reported the theft of sterling silver valued at $7,100.

*On Sunday, Oct. 20, deputies discovered an abandoned vehicle on Fountain Hills Boulevard near Shea that had apparently been involved in an accident. They located the owner who said he had an accident when he had to swerve for animals along the Beeline Highway near Shea and went into the median. He said he “limped” his vehicle to where deputies found it and found another way home.

*On Saturday, Oct. 26, a Fountain Hills man reported he was scammed out of $2,000 by an unknown suspect who identified himself over the phone as a sheriff’s deputy. The man was told he had missed jury duty and was being fined. The money was paid via electronic money exchange.
