A frantic call from a woman sent Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies to Green River Lane in Rio Verde on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The woman was screaming and saying there were people in her home with guns threatening her and she was afraid for her life.
When deputies arrived the woman ran from the house with a gun in her hand and she immediately obeyed when told to drop the weapon.
Deputies searched the residence and found no one else there.
The woman was evaluated for medical concerns by RV Fire District paramedics, but she was not transported to the hospital.
Deputies worked with a social service agency to follow up with additional help for the woman.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 10, a Fountain Hills woman was cited following a traffic accident on Fountain Hills Boulevard. The woman was making a right turn from a private drive and collided with a vehicle traveling north on Fountain Hills Boulevard. No one was injured.
*On Saturday, Sept. 14, a Fountain Hills man reported he was the victim of internet fraud after he applied for a loan on the Web and paid $500 in fees, but received no money for the loan.
*On Monday, Sept. 16, a Rio Verde woman reported someone used her credit card information to make a purchase in France with a value of 352 euros.
*On Monday, Sept. 16, a Fountain Hills man reported someone burglarized his vehicle parked in the 17000 block of Rosita Drive. A duffle bag was stolen containing music CDs and several bottles of prescription drugs.
*On Monday, Sept. 16, deputies were called when a Fountain Hills woman reportedly took merchandise valued at $15 from the Walgreen’s store on Palisades Boulevard.
*On Sunday, Sept. 15, deputies investigated a collision on Palisades Boulevard at Westridge Drive. Two vehicles were traveling north on Palisades when the front vehicle slowed to turn onto Westridge and was struck from behind by the second vehicle.
*On Wednesday, Aug. 28, deputies responded with firefighters to a tractor fire on a ranch on north 144th Street.
*On Monday, Sept. 16, deputies received a report of a burglary at an unoccupied residence in the 16000 block of Glenbrook Blvd. A cooktop valued at $1,200 was reported stolen.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 17, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for extreme DUI after he was stopped by a deputy for unsafe, erratic driving on Fountain Hills Boulevard.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 10, a Fountain Hills woman reported the theft of two rings from her residence in the 19000 block of Tonto Trail. The rings were valued at $19,472,
*On Wednesday, Sept. 11, an unknown male subject removed two bottles of vodka from a local grocery store without paying for them.
*On Friday, Sept. 13, a woman reported someone using her credit card information to make purchases totaling $700.
*On Saturday, Sept. 14, a New York woman reported the possible theft of her recently deceased father’s vehicle in Fountain Hills. She was in town following his death to clear up his affairs and found paperwork regarding vehicle maintenance but no registration or title. Neighbors reported seeing the vehicle in the area, but deputies were unable to locate it.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 17, a Fountain Hills man reported the theft of a scooter valued at $300 from an address in the 14000 block of Kings Way.
*On Friday, Sept. 20, deputies arrested a 20-year-old man for underage consumption of alcohol in Golden Eagle Park. The man was taken to the hospital for consuming an apparently high level of alcohol.
*On Saturday, Sept. 21, deputies arrested an 18-year-old Fountain Hills man for underage consumption of alcohol in the area of Fountain Hills Boulevard and Crystal Ridge Drive.
*On Saturday, Sept. 21, deputies investigated a vehicle accident in which a driver pulling from a shopping center on Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards collided with a vehicle traveling east on Palisades. There were no injuries.
