Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills responded to a report of a fire hydrant flooding Saguaro Boulevard near Hawk Drive at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8.
Deputies arrived and found the hydrant had been severed and was shooting water 30 to 40 feet in the air.
Deputies located a vehicle in the median about 250 feet south of the hydrant, its airbags had deployed, but there was no one in the vehicle.
Finding the vehicle registered to a resident in the 17000 block of Rand Drive, deputies responded to the area and there discovered a male subject hiding from them in the bushes across the street. The vehicle was registered to his parents.
The man was arrested and cited for striking a fixture, felony criminal damage (based on dollar amount) and three DUI charges up to a blood alcohol level of plus .15.
*On Monday, Aug. 5, a woman was arrested at the Fountain Hills residence of her parents for disorderly conduct. Deputies were called to the home in the 16000 block of Tumbleweed Drive by the parents who wanted the daughter to leave. The woman refused to leave and was verbally abusive and uncooperative with deputies taking her into custody.
*On Saturday, Aug. 3, a Fountain Hills woman reported the theft of an envelope containing $7,500 from her vehicle. She said the money was placed under the seat on July 27, and she discovered it missing the day she reported it.
*On Wednesday, July 24, a resident of the 16000 block of Balsam Drive reported the theft of an iPhone charger from his vehicle parked in the driveway. The value of the charger is $40.
*On Monday, Aug. 5, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was being harassed by two people who are former employers of her. She resigned from her job recently after returning from a New York business trip with one of the subjects. Since that time she said they have been repeatedly sending her phone messages, text messages and voice messages. She is alleging she was assaulted during the trip to New York.
*On Wednesday, July 31, a Fountain Hills man reported a violation of a court order after receiving letters from his great uncle.
*On Monday, July 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had damaged a window at her residence in the 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd.
*On Friday, Aug. 2, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had taken jewelry valued at $15,000 from her residence in the 11000 block of Arista Drive. She told deputies a cleaning crew had been at the home all day at an unknown date in late March, and she had asked the company for the return of the jewelry. The woman reported the jewelry was returned to her mailbox after she made the report to deputies.
*On Tuesday, July 30, a resident of the 16000 block of Red Mountain Trail in Maricopa County reported several items of jewelry and coins stolen from his home including a jar with change and cash totaling about $200. The total value of the property is estimated at $10,800.
*On Sunday, Aug. 4, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was being harassed by another woman via social media and email being sent to her family and friends.
*On Monday, Aug. 5, a resident of the 17000 block of Lema Circle reported someone had apparently tried to break into his home through a sliding glass door. Rods in the door track prevented the door from being open more than a few inches. The resident reported the incident because he is next door to the Dawson home where there was a burglary and assault incident July 29.
*On Sunday, July 21, deputies received a report from the Fountain Hills Target store that someone had shoplifted DVD movies valued at $235. Deputies questioned a suspect seen on store surveillance, but no charges were filed.
*On Saturday, Aug. 10, a resident reported a stop sign and a utility box knocked over or damaged at the intersection of Ocotillo Drive and Palomino Boulevard. The items had apparently been struck by a driver who left the scene. There were no witnesses reported.
*On Saturday, Aug. 10, a Fountain Hills man entered a store in the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard and stole a Blackberry phone valued at $600 from a store display.
*On Saturday, Aug. 10, an unknown man attempted to push a cart loaded with $124 in groceries out of the Safeway store without paying. The man fled when he was confronted by an employee, leaving the cart behind.
*On Saturday, Aug. 10, at about 11:45 p.m. deputies responded to a parking lot near Parkview Avenue and La Montana Drive where an injured woman was reported. The woman told deputies she had been sexually assaulted and was taken to the hospital and then interviewed by an MCSO SVU detective.
*On Wednesday, Aug. 7, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had accessed her computer through wireless connection and got into her bank account.
