A woman went to the Sheriff’s substation at Town Hall to report she had just seen a young man climbing onto the Community Center’s roof.
A deputy made access to the roof with the assistance of town personnel working at the center. He was told the individual had climbed to the highest roof level.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fountain Hills Community Center on Wednesday, afternoon, Aug. 14, when they received a report of someone on the roof of the building.
A woman went to the Sheriff’s substation at Town Hall to report she had just seen a young man climbing onto the Community Center’s roof.
A deputy made access to the roof with the assistance of town personnel working at the center. He was told the individual had climbed to the highest roof level.
When the deputy located the subject he found him sitting against the parapet wall reading a book.
The subject was a 13-year-old male who said he was just looking for a quiet place to read.
When the youth was brought back to the ground he was released to his parents who, along with his sister, had been looking for him at the nearby library.
The town did not wish to press charges.
*On Sunday, Aug. 18, a Fountain Hills male juvenile, age 17, was stopped by a deputy and cited for possession of tobacco, a violation of Town Code. The youth was contacted by deputies near Saguaro Boulevard and Pepperwood Circle. He was released after being given the citation.
*On Monday, Aug. 19, an unidentified Fountain Hills resident gave deputies a clear plastic bag they had found that contained a white crystalline substance. The item was field tested and was positive for methamphetamine. The substance was destroyed.
*On Monday, Aug. 19, a Glendale woman was arrested after she failed to provide proper identification at a traffic stop on Saguaro Boulevard near Malta Drive in Fountain Hills. She was booked into 4th Avenue Jail in Phoenix, and her vehicle was towed.
*On Tuesday, Aug. 13, deputies responded to a fight between two female employees at the Taco Bell restaurant on Shea Boulevard. The subjects were 19 and 17 years of age and one had just started working at the restaurant a few days before. The two did have a previous history of disliking one another and each had been taunting the other before the fight. One received minor injuries in the altercation and the second had left the scene before deputies arrived.
*On Sunday, Aug. 11, a woman in the 14000 block of Windstone Trail in Maricopa County reported her husband had assaulted her. She said he struck her in the face and grabbed her by the arms causing minor injury and scratches. She did not wish to press charges.
*On Tuesday, Aug. 13, a resident of the 16000 block of Tombstone Drive reported someone broke into his home while he left the house to go to the post office between 1:30 and 2 p.m. A sliding glass door had been forced open, but nothing was found to be missing.
*On Tuesday, Aug. 13, deputies were shown a surveillance video showing a man taking an iPhone from the hostess podium at a restaurant in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains.
*On Friday, Aug. 16, deputies were called to a two-vehicle accident at Palomino Boulevard and Ocotillo Drive. A vehicle traveling eastbound on Palomino attempted to make a right turn onto Ocotillo and collided with a vehicle stopped for a stop sign. The driver of the stopped vehicle was taken to a Scottsdale hospital for observation and the driver of the eastbound vehicle was treated at the scene for minor cuts and was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
*On Monday, Aug 5, deputies received a report of a man inside a residence in the 27000 block of Lucero Drive in Tonto Verde. The man was confronted by a house sitter visiting the residence. He said he was there to spray for insects. The company he reportedly works for does not do pest control and the person he said let him told authorities they had never made contact with him. Deputies found a screen cut and a window open and are attempting to contact the suspect with a citation for trespassing.
