A Fountain Hills man was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia outside a residence on Chicory Drive Tuesday, July 16.

Deputies were responding to a call from the suspect himself. He said he had methamphetamine he wanted to turn over to the police.

The man told deputies he believed he was being watched and he wanted to get the items out of his house.

A Fountain Hills man was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia outside a residence on Chicory Drive Tuesday, July 16.

Deputies were responding to a call from the suspect himself. He said he had methamphetamine he wanted to turn over to the police.

The man told deputies he believed he was being watched and he wanted to get the items out of his house.

Deputies reported the man was exhibiting unusual behavior and talking to himself and to the deputy who was transporting him from the scene.

*On Monday, July 15, deputies received a report of a burglary to an unoccupied house in the 14000 block of Roy Rogers Road in the county. The residents had been gone a couple of months. A wide screen television and other items with a total estimated value of up to $20,000 were taken. The owner is still reviewing the property for any other items missing.

*On Tuesday, July 16, a woman living on North 168th Street in the county reported someone entered her home and removed property. It was not immediately determined what was missing.

*On Tuesday, July 16, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for possession of marijuana after he was stopped by a deputy. The deputy was on patrol when he observed the suspect known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. He made the traffic stop and the man told him there was some “weed” and a smoking pipe in the vehicle. The man was booked for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Saturday, July 20, deputies arrested a Scottsdale man for criminal speed on Saguaro Boulevard near Palmer Way. The man was observed going 82 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour. He was also cited for not having a driver’s license in his possession.

*On Sunday, July 21, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for felony flight, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license and excessive speed. A deputy observed the suspect traveling at a high rate of speed near El Pueblo Blvd. and Calle del Prado. When he attempted to stop the vehicle the man stopped and got out of the vehicle and went into a residence. It was some time before the man would come out of the house, and when he did he resisted the deputy’s attempts to place him in his patrol car. A woman passenger in the vehicle was cooperative.

*On Wednesday, July 17, deputies received a report of a burglary from a residence in the 18000 block of Mesquite Drive in Rio Verde. The residents’ returned from vacation and found the house had been broken into through a front bedroom window. A computer and jewelry were taken with an estimated total value of $13,000.

*On Friday, July 19, a deputy took possession of two counterfeit bills. A Fountain Hills man said his 13-year-old grandson was walking his dog in the area of El Lago Blvd. and La Montana Drive when he found the $20 bill and a $5 bill. The man said the bank told them the bills were counterfeit.

*On Friday, July 19, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone “keyed” her vehicle while it was parked in a shopping center parking lot at La Montana Drive and Palisades Boulevard.

*On Friday, July 19, deputies received a report that a Fountain Hills man, age 28, had assaulted his grandfather, striking him in the head with a plastic bucket. The two were arguing about money when the alleged assault occurred. Deputies are asking the town prosecutor to press domestic violence assault charges against the man.
