Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on Sunday, July 7, after he forced his way into a home in the 12000 block of La Montana Drive.

Deputies were responding to a report of an unknown person trying to get into the residence. The caller later identified the suspect as her husband.

The woman and other family members including children had locked themselves in an upstairs bedroom to call for help.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on Sunday, July 7, after he forced his way into a home in the 12000 block of La Montana Drive.

Deputies were responding to a report of an unknown person trying to get into the residence. The caller later identified the suspect as her husband.

The woman and other family members including children had locked themselves in an upstairs bedroom to call for help.

When deputies arrived they were told the man had left the scene, but a neighbor reported seeing him go around to the rear of the house and try to access the second floor.

Deputies found the man at the rear of the home and took him into custody. He was described by deputies as combative and uncooperative. They stated he was yelling and verbally abusive.

The man faces potential charges for domestic violence disorderly conduct and domestic violence criminal damage.

*On Tuesday, June 25, deputies received a call from a man in Canada saying he believes he was defrauded on a home improvement job for cabinet work. The man said he signed a contract via email and paid for the work at a residence in the 17000 block of Rosita Drive that was never done.

*On Friday, July 5, a Fountain Hills woman reported a ring valued at $2,000 was missing from her residence in the 16000 block of Nicklaus Drive. The jewelry was discovered missing after furniture was delivered.

*On Saturday, June 29, deputies received a report that two women had left the Fountain Hills Denny’s restaurant without paying their bill for $32.

*On Monday, July 8, deputies arrested an Apache Junction man for allegedly assaulting a woman at a residence on N. 170th Street in Maricopa County. The two had gotten into an argument and the woman said he grabbed her around the neck and dragged her by the hair. The man was stopped by a deputy on McDowell Mountain Road north of Fountain Hills and taken into custody.

*On Tuesday, July 9, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for reckless driving and excessive speed. He was traveling 70 miles per hour on Shea Boulevard where the speed limit had been reduced to 30 in a construction zone.

*On Wednesday, July 10, a Fountain Hills woman reported that someone had used her bank debit card to make purchases without her authorization.

*On Friday, July 5, a man was arrested for disorderly conduct and preventing a person from using the phone to call for help. The couple got into an argument at a residence on Rio Verde Drive. The woman was also arrested on two outstanding warrants. Charges against the man were submitted to the county attorney for review.

*On Friday, July 5, deputies were called to the Holiday Inn in Fountain Hills regarding two unsupervised male minors, ages 12 and nine. The boys had been staying with the mother and a younger sibling at the hotel when they checked out. After a while the boys returned sitting in the lobby watching television. The boys told deputies they did not know where their mother had gone. They lost track of her after they had gone across the street to Fountain Park. Deputies located the boys’ grandparents and eventually their parents. CPS is reviewing the case.

*On Wednesday, July 3, deputies received a report from a resident of N. 144th Street in Maricopa County that someone had broken into their home and removed jewelry. The residents estimated the value of the jewelry at $15,200.

*On Sunday, July, 7, a Fountain Hills man reported his 27-year-old daughter missing, saying he believes she was meeting a male friend from California. Contact was later made with the woman and arrangements were being made for her to return to Arizona.

*On Sunday, July 7, a Fountain Hills woman, 57, was cited for DUI following a single-vehicle accident on Saguaro Boulevard near El Lago. The woman apparently struck the curb shredding a tire on her vehicle.

*On Wednesday, July 10, a business in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains reported two locks removed from their trash dumpster.

*On Thursday, July 11, deputies received a report from Goodwill in Fountain Hills that someone had shoplifted a leather purse valued at $129.

*On Friday, July 12, a Fountain Hills man reported someone used his credit card information to purchase items charged at $414 on the Internet.

*On Friday, July, 12, deputies were called about an alleged threat made by a Fountain Hills man to United Parcel Service. A UPS driver stopped to deliver a package to the man’s Fountain Hills address but received no answer, so he left taking the package with him per policy. The man allegedly called UPS and threatened to assault the driver if he returned and “blow up” a UPS building in Tempe if they did not return with the package. The investigation is ongoing.

*On Sunday, July 14, a Mesa man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false information to a deputy. The man was seen by a deputy on patrol in Fountain Park after hours. When the deputy made contact the man was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and provided the deputy with false information regarding his identity.
