Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man lying in the street on Saguaro Boulevard at Gunsight Drive at about 4 p.m. on Friday, April 26.

Deputies found the man was being attended to by passersby when they arrived, and his brother was on the scene.

The brother reported that the two of them had been at a bar in the area. The injured man was intoxicated, so the brother was driving a pick-up and making a left turn from Saguaro onto Gunsight when the intoxicated brother open the door and jumped from the moving vehicle. He struck his head when he fell.

The man was taken to a Scottsdale hospital by ambulance after being treated at the scene by fire department paramedics.

*On Thursday, April 25, a Fountain Hills man reported his wallet had been stolen after he left it in a store and found it missing when he went back to retrieve it.

*On Friday, April 26, deputies received a report that a vehicle left the scene after striking a stop sign at Parkview Avenue and Verde River Drive.

*On Tuesday, April 30, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone used her name and Social Security number to file a false tax return.

*On Sunday, April 28, a deputy at a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard observed a vehicle traveling westbound lose control, strike the median curb and cross over to the eastbound lanes spinning out. The deputy responded and noticed the male driver getting out of the vehicle apparently in shock and disoriented. Making contact with the driver the deputy noticed an odor of alcohol and performed field sobriety tests. The man was cited for extreme DUI, DUI drugs and arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Friday, April 19, a woman residing at FireRock Country Club reported to vehicles racing on the street when one slid into her yard and struck her mailbox before driving off. Deputies were unable to locate a nearby resident who owns a vehicle as described by the woman. There were no other witnesses to the incident.

*On Monday, April 20, a deputy made a traffic stop for speeding and the 17-year-old male driver was arrested for DUI drugs, speeding and a curfew violation.

*On Thursday, April 25, deputies responded to a report of a domestic fight in the area of Saguaro Boulevard and Avenue of the Fountains. They arrested the male subject on a fugitive warrant for probation violations in California. The fight was apparently verbal and did not become a physical altercation.

*On Thursday, May 2, deputies responded to a report from Chaparral City Water Company employees of a foul odor coming from a residence they were checking in the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard. No water had been used for 30 days and the bill had not been paid. Deputies discovered the badly decomposed body of a male subject in the residence. Friends living nearby said they believe the man may have been suicidal. They had not heard from or seen him in about a month. Family members out of state told deputies they had not heard from the man in 25 or 30 years.

*On Friday, May 3, deputies received a report that someone had stolen a bicycle in the 15000 block of Yucca Drive.

*On Sunday, May 5, a Pennsylvania man was cited for excessive speed when a deputy stopped him traveling 70 miles per hour on Shea Boulevard just east of Saguaro Boulevard. The speed limit is 45 miles per hour.
