Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Scottsdale men following a traffic stop on the Beeline Highway near Shea Boulevard on Tuesday, April 16.

A deputy observed the vehicle traveling 72 miles per hour on Shea where the speed limit is 50.

Once the vehicle was pulled over the deputy noticed the driver appeared to be impaired and conducted field sobriety tests.

The driver was eventually cited for felony DUI, driving with a suspended license and excessive speed.

A passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The two were booked into Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix.

*On Sunday, April 14, an Avondale man was cited for disorderly conduct after he was stopped on Shea Boulevard near 136th Street. Deputies responding to a report of a man with a gun found no weapon, but determined he had been overly aggressive toward other drivers on SR 87 north of Shea.

*On Sunday, April 14, deputies received a report that someone had slashed the tires of a pick-up parked on Tonto National Forest Land near 136th Street and Montello Road. There were several similar incidents at the same location about a month ago.

*On Monday, April 15, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision in the intersection of Palisades and Palomino boulevards. A vehicle making a left turn from Palisades to Eagle Ridge Drive was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Palisades.

*On Monday, April 15, deputies took two shoplifting reports from the Target store on Shea Boulevard. In one incident a man removed jewelry from its package and placed it in his pocket. He purchased other items before leaving the store. The second incident involved a woman taking cosmetics from the counter and leaving the store without paying.

*On Monday, April 15, a resident reported someone punctured the tires of his vehicle while it was parked in front of a residence in the 16000 block of Alamosa Avenue. The victim was able to provide suspect information.

*On Tuesday, April 2, a resident of the 13000 block of Windstone Trail in Maricopa County reported someone had stolen property valued at more than $18,000 from his home. Items included a handgun, shotgun, jewelry and electronics items.

*On Tuesday, April 2, a resident of the 15000 block of Sunburst Drive reported damage to a mailbox and garage door.

*On Tuesday, April 9, deputies responded to a report of a fight at a fast food restaurant in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard. They found that a man and woman had been arguing over the possession of a cell phone. The man was located away from the restaurant and cited for theft. The woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Tuesday, April 2, deputies received a report that someone had damaged five mailboxes at home in the 15000 block of Echo Hill Drive.

*On Saturday, April 6, a resident of the 17000 block of Calle Del Sol reported the rear window of his SUV had been broken.

*On Friday, April 12, deputies received a report of a burglary in the 16000 block of Ocotillo Drive. Someone had removed a laptop computer and tools from the home with an estimated value of $1,100. Entry appeared to have been made by breaking a garage window.

*On Monday, April 15, deputies were called for a domestic dispute in the 28000 block of N. 139th Street in Maricopa County. A family argument between a woman and her parents had escalated into a physical confrontation. The incident involved the woman’s children.

*On Wednesday, April 17, deputies received a report that someone had trespassed at a community pool area near Panorama and Quail Ridge drives.

*On Wednesday, April 17, deputies investigated two vehicle accidents within a construction zone on McDowell Mountain Road between Fountain Hills and Rio Verde. A man pulling a trailer with a boat struck the guardrail on the southbound side. Also a woman driving south struck a guardrail near the same area. Deputies and road work supervisors measured and discovered the traffic cones had been placed to create a lane narrower than specified. The report stated that an 11-foot width is specified, the width measured at less than 10 feet.

*On Wednesday, April 17, a resident of the 16000 block of Trevino Drive reported someone broke into his home between March 1 and April 17 and removed an AK 47 rifle. Detectives are following up on suspect information.

*On Friday, April 19, a Fountain Hills woman reported that someone had stolen her cell phone valued at $200.

*On Saturday, April 20, deputies investigated a collision on Shea Boulevard at Palisades Boulevard. A woman making a right turn from Palisades onto westbound Shea was struck by a vehicle traveling on Shea. The woman who made the turn was cited for an unsafe lane change and failure to drive in one lane.

*On Sunday, April 21, deputies received a report that someone had broken a window to a vehicle parked near Forest and McDowell Mountain roads and stole a .22 rifle and some vehicle documentation.
