Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on Thursday, March 28, after he allegedly assaulted his ex-wife at an apartment in the 16000 block of Arrow Drive.
Deputies responded to a report by neighbors about a domestic disturbance. When they arrived they were invited in by the parties involved.
The man said he was “lured” to the residence by the woman and she attacked him. He had scratches on his face and neck.
The woman claimed he had struck her several times with a closed fist around the head and face. Both declined medical treatment.
Deputies concluded that her injuries were consistent with her version of the altercation and placed him under arrest.
- On Tuesday, March 26, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for domestic violence assault causing physical injury. They responded to a report of a woman being beaten by her live-in boyfriend. He allegedly struck her in the face with his hand. He was also cited for criminal damage, disorderly conduct and theft of prescription drugs.
- On Thursday, Feb. 21, a man reported golf clubs valued at $3,100 were stolen while he was at a Fountain Hills golf course.
- On Thursday, March 14, a Fountain Hills man reported someone withdrew funds from his checking account at a Chandler branch of his bank.
- On Sunday, March 24, deputies received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 17000 block of Maya Drive in Maricopa County. The burglary was reported by the daughter of the homeowner who was out of town. Electronic equipment was reported taken, and a vehicle reported stolen in the burglary was recovered in Tempe. The victims were able to provide suspect information.
- On Friday, March 15, a man reported someone had used his identification to file income tax in Florida.
- On Friday, March 22, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision at Saguaro Blvd. and Monterey Drive. Two vehicles traveling southbound collided when one slowed to make a right-hand-turn.
- On Friday, March 22, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision on Saguaro Boulevard at Panorama Drive. A driver making a left turn from Panorama collided with a postal truck traveling southbound on Saguaro.
- On Friday, March 22, deputies received a report of a cell phone taken from the handbag of a Fountain Hills High School student. The phone, valued at $599, was later recovered.
- On Tuesday, March 26, a woman reported someone had broken into her vehicle parked in the 15000 block of Thistle Drive. Keys belonging to clients of the woman’s cleaning business were taken.
- On Thursday, March 14, deputies investigated a collision at Palisades Blvd. and Verde River Drive. One driver was turning left onto Palisades from Verde River when they were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Palisades. Both drivers went to the hospital for evaluation.
- On Saturday, March 16, deputies arrested a Fort McDowell juvenile male, age 15, on drug charges. Deputies received a report of a young man walking in a neighborhood at 3 a.m. He was stopped by a deputy walking along Fountain Hills Blvd. near Palisades. He was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for a curfew violation.
- On Sunday, March 17, deputies received a report from a Fountain Hills restaurant that an apparently impaired driver was going through the drive-through at the restaurant. Deputies arrested the man and cited him and released him from the scene.
- On Tuesday, March 19, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had called her on the phone and attempted to obtain personal information by posing as a computer company employee.
- On Thursday, March 21, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for theft of property at a Fountain Hills apartment complex. He was taking the stolen items to the apartment of his girlfriend’s mother.
- On Monday, March 18, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision on Shea and Fountain Hills boulevards. The driver of an eastbound vehicle stopped at the traffic light changed and was hit by another eastbound vehicle. The second driver told deputies he attempted to swerve and miss the other vehicle but was not able to.
- On Friday, March 22, a Fountain Hills man struck a parked car near his home on Spotted Horse Way. He was cited for driving with a suspended license, suspended license plate and failure to control his vehicle.
- On Wednesday, March 27, deputies were called to a collision on Palisades Boulevard at Ridgeway Drive. A woman driving southbound on Palisades struck the curb and lost control, crossed the lanes of traffic and the median where she struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. No one was injured.
- On Saturday, March 30, a vehicle stopped for a stop sign on Saguaro Boulevard at Avenue of the Fountains was struck from behind by a second vehicle.
- Deputies received seven reports of vehicles broken into Wednesday, March 27. All of the incidents occurred west of Fountain Hills Boulevard, but were as far south as Mustang Drive to as far north as Gleneagle Drive.
Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Munley said information given to deputies indicates that some of the vehicles were not secure. In some of the incidents a window was broken. Three more incidents were reported March 29. Based on the number at one time, Munley said they believe it is likely the burglaries were the work of a single person or group. Munley is urging anyone who parks a vehicle on the street to make sure it is secure and remove all valuables when leaving the vehicle.
