Lawrence Lee Ingram, age 87, of Rio Verde Arizona, passed away on the 21st of November 2023. Born in San Antonio Texas in 1936, Larry received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado University in 1964. Prior to completing his degree he served in the army in the Scientific and Professional Unit at Redstone Arsenal in Birmingham Alabama. After university, Larry was Director of Planning at the Technical Service Company in Denver, where he specialised in the construction of newspaper printing plants. He then had long and distinguished career in the newspaper industry. He was the SVP of Production for the New York Daily News and the San Francisco Newspaper Agency. After a 30 year career , Larry and his wife Joanne retired to the Scottsdale area.
Larry had a love for adventure and play. In his spare time, he loved skiing, sailing, scuba diving and golf. Most of all, many will remember how his laugh could change the energy of an entire room. Larry is survived by his wife, Joanne Ingram, his brother and sister in law Robert and Pam Ingram; daughters Jill Abbott, Amy Tang, and Elizabeth Piazza, and his grand children, Aiden and Megan Abbott, Ben, Sam and Josh Tang, Luke, Scarlett and Adam Piazza. Larry was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Annabelle and Zachary Piazza.
Funeral services will take place at the Scottsdale Bible Church in Fountain Hills on the the 12th of January 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the Ingram family is requesting donations be made to The Hospice of the Valley.
