Isn’t leadership having a trustworthy vision of what is right, the character and passion to succeed and the social influence to enlist the aid and support of others?
Aren’t leaders supposed to leave a trail of hope and endless possibilities? How did we go from being King of the Mountain to Mary’s little lambs?
We all know “snake oil salesmen” are abundant. I, for one, am not smart enough or educated enough or sleazy enough to figure them out. What we need is a written set of principles. A concise guide that will provide a roadmap with a set of defined rules and regulations.

Oops. We have that. It’s called the Constitution. How did we manage to misplace the Constitution? America’s greatness wasn’t by accident but through great moral leadership. Leaders who inspired and pushed everyone to be what they knew they could be.
Isn’t today’s style of leadership to build up the non-contributors by pulling down the contributors? Ask yourself which founding principle is that? Will it work?
I wonder, do enough Americans still want democracy? Do enough Americans still want the Constitution? Are there any Americans with the vision and courage of our founding fathers and the willingness to lead and put our country first at all costs, like before?
I wonder, have Americans gone so far astray that potential leaders will not be given a legitimate opportunity to prove themselves? I wonder, can we even still recognize a true, honorable leader?
If understanding our successful history no longer provides the foundation for the future, then all intentions will die and hope end.
Author Thomas Carlisle wrote: “Show me the man you honor and I will know what kind of man you are.”
What kind of individual would you honor? See that person anywhere?
