Lee Romans, of Fountain Hills, AZ, & Nevis, MN, passed away at the age of 83, at his family home in Nevis on Sept. 19, 2026, from pancreatic cancer.
Born on July 30,1943, in Fremont, NE, to Lillian and Don Romans, he spent the first half of his life in Council Bluffs, IA, before moving to Fountain Hills, AZ in 1985.
After high school, Lee served as a Navy radarman on the John A Bole destroyer from 1961-1964, during the early years of the Vietnam War.
He then worked in the trucking industry for many years before becoming the Safety Director for the City of Phoenix in 1989, a position he held until his retirement in 2003. He had three children: Janine, Tim, & LeAnn Romans; and married his wife, Becky Romans, on July 10, 1982.
He enjoyed coaching soccer, playing golf, riding the trails in his side-by-side, and fishing, among many other continually evolving hobbies, such as forging knives, a new talent he developed in his mid 70s.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janine Romans; parents, Lillian & Don Romans; sister- and brother-in-law, Janette & Roger Eck; brothers, Fred Romans & Mike Wymore; and parents-in-law, Bob & Joan Olsen.
Lee is survived by his wife, Becky Romans; son, Tim Romans; daughter, LeAnn Romans; grandsons, Dylan & Ethan Romans; granddaughter, Cylee Horwath; brother- & sister-in-law, Bob & Laura Olsen; special cousin, DeDe Crow; special up north Kids, Dave & Cindy Herrmann; and many other cousins, nephews, nieces, and special friends.
Per Lee’s request, there will be no services at this time. His ashes will be spread at a later date at the MN property.
