Lend Me a Tenor – The Musical opens at Fountain Hills Theater Friday, June 24.

Lend Me a Tenor – The Musical is a riotous tale of mistaken identities and unexpected romance. It explodes in this brand new musical comedy based on the Tony award nominated play. The production contains adult content.

It’s 1934 and opera virtuoso Tito Merelli is about to revive Pagliacci for the 10-year anniversary of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company.

When Tito becomes unexpectedly incapacitated, a suitable replacement must be found. Max, the opera director’s sheepish assistant, is charged with the daunting task of finding a suitable replacement. Who is cavalier enough to replace him? With the help of a menacing soprano, a tenor-struck ingénue, a jealous wife and the Cleveland Police Department, mayhem, lunacy and shear panic ensue, but in the end the show must always go on.

The show continues through July 10. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Individual tickets are $28.00 for Adults and $23.00 for Youth 17 and under. Group rates, veteran and student rush discounts are available.

All performances are at Fountain Hills Theater on its Mainstage at 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd. Tickets are available through the theater box office at 480-837-9661, x3. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Visit fhtaz.org for more information.
