Leo Brinkman III

Leo Brinkman III, 58, died unexpectedly on Aug. 1, 2018 in Phoenix, of heart trouble. He is survived by his mother, Gerd Brinkman; nephews, Ben and Miles, and nieces, Rebecca and Annika. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo “Bud” Brinkman; sister, Suzan Biehler (Mike), and brother, Bjorn.

Leo was born Aug. 7, 1959 in Lake Charles, La. into an Air Force family. He graduated in 1977 from Mesa High School. He spent his childhood in Lake Charles, Little Rock, Ark., Rapid City, S.D., Holland and Norway, and lived in Missouri and Arizona.

He had an associate degree from Mesa Community College, and a BA in telecommunications management from DeVry Institute.

Leo loved his family and animals, was loved by many friends and relatives, and had many friends in and out of AA.

A remembrance gathering is being planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the animal rescue charity of your choice.
