Let's talk Turkey

Where was Turkey when we were fighting in Iraq, against ISIS and in Vietnam? We have asked them to try and make peace with the Kurds, who were our allies in Iraq and our fight against ISIS. Turkey left their borders open so ISIS could cross them and fight the Kurds.

Has Turkey ever paid us for putting missiles and troops in their country to help protect them from Russia? Did Turkey ever get involved with anyone who was killed in our country? We had news reporters killed in our country and in other countries.

Do you think Turkey cares about our country losing thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in trade if we get involved with their problems with Saudi Arabia?

Check out your history — the war Turkey had with Saudi Arabia. Do you remember the story, “Lawrence of Arabia?” The British helped the Arab tribes fight the Turks from taking over their country. Not enough space is the history of the Turkish Ottoman Empire taking over much of the Middle East.

What country has not been involved with assassinations? Who helped plan the killing of Ngo Dinh Diem, president of South Vietnam?

Stop and think — don’t let the liberal press use Turkey’s problem to hurt our relationship with Saudi Arabia, one of our few allies in the Middle East. Have you forgotten that because of lack of security at their airport, Americans died? I’ve been through it four times; it’s a cake walk.

We no longer have missiles or a large troop presence in Turkey, but we do have them in Saudi Arabia.

Let’s stop playing the Let’s Attack President Trump game and start working on “America, our country first.” It’s all bad when anyone gets killed, not just reporters.
