I’ve read and responded to Pastor Pierce’s anti-LGBTQ letters in The Fountain Hills Times since 2009. I feel like a broken record, but in case one LGBTQ person reads his letter, I want to be sure there is a rebuttal to pierce’s pulpit.
1) Not all Christians believe as Pastor Pierce.
2) The Jesus that I have read about in my Bible embraces all.

3) Transgender does not equate to pedophile.
4) I will be shopping at Target in Pastor Pierce’s stead. Both my young daughters and I will use their clean restrooms.
5) In Christianity, as will all of the major religions, we are taught The Golden Rule. In Christianity, it is found in both Matthew and Luke. Matthew 7:12 (NIV) “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Luke 6:31 (The Message) “Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them!”
