The holidays can be difficult for people for many different reasons. Family members disagreeing with one another on religious and political issues are just one of those challenges.
LGBTQ people and their allies can find this time of year especially hard. Some have to keep their sexuality from their own families. Others have come out and shared their truth, only to be shunned. Many feel conflict between the hurtful things they hear people say and their commitment to a child or other loved one who they see being hurt or shamed.
Don’t feel like you have to face these feelings alone. If you are an LGBTQ person or a supportive friend, family member, or ally, there is a place for you to find support and understanding right here in Fountain Hills.
