Lift Off lifting competition at Peaks Athletic Club Saturday
Peaks Athletic Club will be hosting a "Lift Off" lifting event this Saturday, Feb. 1, beginning at 11 a.m.
Four divisions will compete including males up to 165 pounds, up to 200 pounds and over 200 pounds, as well as a women's division. The contest will consist of the "big three" events, including bench press, squad and dead lift. The sum of all three events will be added for a final score. Scores will also count as an official attempt to get in the 1,000 Club, exclusive to members who reach 1,000 combined pounds.
The Lift Off is free for Peaks embers to enter and, if successful, organizers hope to expand the event in future iterations to include prizes and charity support.
