Like a pack of rabid dogs, the tea partiers and Fox news junkies have attacked Mr. Broge for expressing his political views.
Then on the same page tea partier Rich Rutkowski sends this invitation, “they invite all to their meeting to evaluate their political candidates.” This invitation was the biggest joke ever on the opinion page. I still haven’t stopped laughing. After reading the, dare I say hateful, letters addressed to Mr. Broge for expressing his political views, who would rush to their meeting to be verbally abused for exercising their right to freedom of speech?

Let’s evaluate today. The Republicans in our state Legislature and our governor have increased the abuse, neglect and death of children, elderly and veterans living in Arizona. All of these citizens have been deemed expendable and services are cut from the budget. But behold, our local representative, John Kavanagh, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, magically found $1 million lying around and wanted to give these tax dollars to private prisons of Corrections Corporation of America. They currently have a signed contract to receive $400 million. John Kavanagh thought they deserved to get an additional $1 million because of the economy, forget a legal contract.
Or, let’s evaluate Rep. David Livingston who spends his time in Nevada supporting Mr. Cliven Bundy. In case the reader is unaware of whom Mr. Bundy is, he is the criminal who has unlawfully pocketed over $1 million of our federal tax dollars. He is a thief who feels he has the right to not obey the laws of the United States of America; laws which are abided by all cattle ranchers who graze cattle on public land.
Let’s all spend some time really evaluating the candidates for 2014!
