Long: Outsiders are trying to buy Fountain Hills through Arpaio
Don’t be fooled about the fundraising Joe Arpaio is doing to run for mayor. His 2023 cumulative campaign finance report provides details. It’s more of the same – when he lost last time.
Just this last year, Arpaio raised a little over $36,000 for his current attempt to run for mayor, adding to his existing war chest of $32,000, which he carried over from his last loss in 2022.
Of revenues of $100/person reporting threshold, $18,300 were from “in-state” resources. However only one of the 15 contributors was from Fountain Hills!

Even more noticeable was his 600-plus “out-of-state” contributions – more than $16,700 (46.4%)! That’s right, “out-of-state” contributions. Really? Are there that many people across this nation who are concerned about the mayoral election in Fountain Hills?
