Long: Peggy McMahon should serve a second term

Posted

As a long-time resident of Fountain Hills and a frequent visitor to Town Hall meetings (in person or virtually), I have been impressed with the performance of Councilmember Peggy McMahon at the dais.

In her first term on the council she has done her homework and came prepared to each meeting and was ready to discuss agenda items intelligently. I have also noticed that she takes her appreciation of our fair town seriously.

Among her other contributions, she has served on the Boards of the East Valley Partnership and the Valley Metro RPTA & Valley Rail. Moreover, she has been an active participant in the Maricopa Association of Governments Economic Development Committee focusing on Regional Homeless Planning Strategy. She has also participated in the League of Cities and Towns Committee, Sustainability and Quality of Life Committee.

Locally, Ms. McMahon is part of the Council Sub-committee for Pedestrian and Traffic Safety, the Fountain Hills CARES committee and the Dementia Friendly Committee. Additionally, Peggy has been involved with the Friends in the Hills Women’s Group among others. Peggy’s past credentials working for 35 years in estate planning and taxation areas of law, working as an AZ State Licensed Fiduciary with the Maricopa County Public Fiduciary demonstrate her smarts. She also has a paralegal degree.

Before retiring, Peggy and her husband were partners in Global Business Management Consultants, LLC specializing in Project Management for businesses and universities worldwide. Peggy McMahon demonstrates the acumen, the dedication to the community and the experience needed to serve a second term on the Town Council.
