Motorists traveling along State Route 260 east of Payson on Saturday, Aug. 15, should plan ahead and allow for extra travel time as heavy traffic is expected due to the annual Camp Tontozona football scrimmage hosted by Arizona State University.
To accommodate the large crowds, eastbound lanes between Kohl's Ranch and Christopher Creek will be temporarily closed from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow camp visitors to park along the highway.
Along this nearly five-mile stretch, about 17 miles of Payson, the highway will be narrowed to one lane in each direction and all through traffic will be diverted onto the westbound lanes.
