Here we go again! We are driving our resolve to find greener alternative fuels into the gas tank another misdirect time in history. Did we forget the oil crisis of 1973 when OPEC plus Egypt and Syria first proclaimed an oil embargo, limiting the production and supply of oil?

Prices per barrel went from $3 to around $12. The increase was passed on, raising the costs of a variety of markets globally and hitting the pockets of consumers worldwide.

Politics and industry went “bonkers.” Where did innovators open windows? Many directions, such as lighter auto body weight, gas-electric hybrids, fuel conversions from corn, solar, nuclear power, and it is still a work in progress.

Here we go again! Prices are falling. The rush to gas pumps resumes. As consumers, we must stick to switching from our dependence on oil to greener alternatives that are being developed and improved. Drilling and sea exploration for oil resources will finally end. Save our oceans from oil contamination. Save our sea life. Save our water supply. Save our planet, please.

When investors lose money on oil companies, it would be to their advantage to consider promising alternatives. There are important times in a negative economy when entrepreneurs have the foresight and courage to build businesses through demand and supply. It diminishes the stranglehold large corporations have on politics for profit with disregard for conservation and health issues.

Not again! Let’s keep on track for healthier alternative fuels, even compressed air, as another suggestion for high speed trains and more. Stimulate our children to use imagination and intellectual curiosity for advancement in standards for higher quality education. Let’s learn new directions and not “here we go again” backward thinking.
