Loop 101 work closes ramps at Indian School Road

As work continues to add new lanes along Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) in the East Valley, the on- and off-ramps at Indian School Road are closed for approximately 60 days for reconstruction, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

All four of the Loop 101 ramps at the Indian School Road interchange were closed as scheduled on Monday, June 22. Crews will now rebuild the ramps so they fit into the path of the wider freeway. The ramps are due to reopen by late August.

Drivers are encouraged to use ramps at other nearby interchanges, including Thomas or Chaparral roads, while the ramps at Indian School Road are closed.

The work is part of the $73 million project to add new right lanes along Loop 101 between Shea Boulevard and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). The entire project is scheduled for completion next year.

The Loop 101 on- and off-ramps at McDowell Road were closed for 60 days starting June 1. Those ramps are scheduled to reopen by early August.

Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather.
