Lorene Leesman

Lorene A. Leesman, 89, went to be with our Lord on July 15, 2015. Her loving husband, Walter J. Leesman, of 70 years of marriage was by her side.

Lorene was born in Lincoln, Ill. and had lived in Arizona for over 62 years. She is survived by her sons Larry Leesman and Tom Leesman, her daughter Kathy Carlson, along with six grandchildren, her niece Diane Christensen, and her brother Edward Pluth.

Lorene was a devout Catholic with a strong faith in her religion and Christian beliefs. She was a wonderful homemaker and also spent numerous hours volunteering her time at church and for the Salvation Army, an organization she held close to her heart.

She won numerous awards during her time at the Salvation Army. These included The Twelve Who Care Hon Kachina Award, The Sally Award, and The Women’s Auxiliary Bonnet Award. She also truly enjoyed volunteering at The Salvation Army Senior Center and The Laura Danieli Senior Center.

She brought millions of smiles to the faces and hearts of the elderly. Her wit, kindness, spirit and sense of humor were contagious. Lorene lit up every room she entered and ensured that life was lived to the fullest with family, friends and laughter. She will be greatly missed but know she is in the great hands of our Lord and Savior.

The Mass/service at St. Bernard’s of Clairvaux Catholic Church at 10755 N. 124th St., Scottsdale, will be held on Monday, July 20, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Senior Center.
