Lorraine Vlachos, born in March of 1942, and passed away on March 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine grew up in San Diego, CA and graduated Coronado High class of 1960, later moving to Fountain Hills, AZ. She leaves behind a legacy defined by warmth, compassion, and a genuine love for life and will be remembered for a generous spirit, a steady presence, and a heart that made room for both people and animals alike. Throughout her life, Lorraine found joy in building relationships, offering encouragement, and bringing comfort to those around her. She loved playing cards with the girls in her card group, and Wine Time in the afternoons. She had a special affection for animals, treating them with kindness and care and finding in them a source of companionship and happiness. She was instrumental in establishing the memorial for Lucy the White Deer in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. That same tenderness extended to family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the good fortune to know her. Although Lorraine left us too soon, her impact endures, in our cherished memories, in stories that will be told and retold, as an example of a life lived with empathy, joy, and purpose. A service and a celebration of life will be held on April 21, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Church of the Ascension at 12615 N Fountain Hills Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Lorraine’s memory to Fearless Kitty Rescue, at https://fearlesskittyrescue.org/, reflecting her lifelong love of animals. Lorraine will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
