Mad Monster bringing horror, sci-fi icons to We-Ko-Pa

Horror and sci-fi fans from all over the state will converge on We-Ko-Pa Resort next month as Mad Monster Arizona hosts a three-day convention from May 13-15.

Event hours for the big show are Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The main Mad Monster conference includes a vendor hall, celebrity signings, panels and more.

The guest list is still growing but, at present, it’s full of genre legends including the grandfather of modern zombies, George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead).

Horror and sci-fi fans from all over the state will converge on We-Ko-Pa Resort next month as Mad Monster Arizona hosts a three-day convention from May 13-15.

Danny Trejo (Machete, Breaking Bad) will also be on hand, alongside the likes of Malcolm McDowell (Clockwork Orange, Halloween), Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek), Bill Mosley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) and Sid Haig (The Devil’s Rejects), to name a few.

Other events included as part of Mad Monster Arizona are a costume contest, movie screenings, a Miss Mad Monster pageant, live band performances, “Scaraoke” music competitions and a charity auction. After hour events are also planned.

Tickets for the event are $25 for Friday or Sunday day passes, $30 for Saturday day passes or $50 for the full event. Prices go up at the door.
