Horror and sci-fi fans from all over the state will soon converge on We-Ko-Pa Resort to take part in the three-day Mad Monster Arizona convention. The event kicks off, (appropriately enough) this Friday, July 13, and runs through July 15.

Event hours for the big show are Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The main Mad Monster conference includes a vendor hall, celebrity signings, panels and more. There are also several post-show events taking place Friday and Saturday, all of which can be found online at madmonster.com/events/arizona2018.

Other events included as part of Mad Monster Arizona are a costume contest, movie screenings, a Miss Mad Monster pageant, live band performances, “Scaraoke” music competitions and a charity auction.

Advanced tickets are $25 for Friday or Sunday, $35 for Saturday or $60 for the weekend. At the door, those prices jump to $30, $40 and $70, respectively.

As for guests, this year’s roster includes an eclectic bunch. Many cast members from the Nightmare on Elm Street films will be on hand, alongside Lance Henriksen, Michael Biehn and Jenette Goldstein from Aliens. Mitch Pileggi from The X-Files will be on hand, as well as folks who have played “mad monsters” such as Leatherface, Jason and Michael Myers.
