Mad Monster returns to We-Ko-Pa

Horror and sci-fi fans from all over the state will converge on We-Ko-Pa Resort this month as Mad Monster Arizona returns for a three-day convention from May 19-21.

Event hours for the big show are Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The main Mad Monster conference includes a vendor hall, celebrity signings, panels and more.

While the guest list is still growing, this year’s mix of attendees is an eclectic bunch, including professional wrestler Ric Flair and the man inside the original Godzilla costume, Haruo Nakajima.

Mad Monster returns to We-Ko-Pa

Horror and sci-fi fans from all over the state will converge on We-Ko-Pa Resort this month as Mad Monster Arizona returns for a three-day convention from May 19-21.

While the guest list is still growing, this year’s mix of attendees is an eclectic bunch, including professional wrestler Ric Flair and the man inside the original Godzilla costume, Haruo Nakajima.

Butch Patrick and Pat Priest from “The Munsters” will also be on hand, alongside Judith O’Dea, John Russo and Russ Streiner from “Night of the Living Dead.”

Remaining guests appeared in films like “Grimlins,” “Hellraiser,” “Friday the 13th Part VI,” “Halloween II” and more.

Other events included as part of Mad Monster Arizona are a costume contest, movie screenings, a Miss Mad Monster pageant, live band performances, “Scaraoke” music competitions and a charity auction. After hour events are also planned.

Tickets for the event are $25 for Friday or Sunday day passes, $30 for Saturday day passes or $50 for the full event. Prices go up at the door.
