Margaret Ann “Maggie” LaVoie, cherished wife, mom, grandma and friend, passed away on Sept. 4, 2015, at the age of 67.
Maggie will always be remembered for her great love for her friends and family, her fun-loving spirit and her infectious laugh.
Maggie was born in Central City, Ky., on May 26, 1948. At the age of 13, while living in Akron, Ohio, she met a boy named Jim driving his go-cart.
Maggie and Jim married on Aug. 2, 1968, and had three children. After moving to Fountain Hills in 1978, Maggie assisted many local families as a licensed Realtor for 27 years. Her friends hold bright memories of many festive gatherings with Maggie and Jim here in Fountain Hills, at “Casa LaVoie” in Cholla Bay, and in Pinetop-Lakeside.
Maggie’s love for her family was unwavering: Devoted partner and wife to Jim for 47 years; caring mom to Tim (wife, Jodi), Charlie (wife, Robin), and Betsy (husband, Todd); and loving grandma to Philip, Christopher, Nicholas, Blake, Madigan and Mason.
She is preceded in death by her mother Betty, and her siblings, Mary Ellen and Johnny. We will miss her so very much.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd. A reception in celebration of Maggie’s life will be held immediately following at a location to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Maggie to the Barrow Neurological Foundation, 350 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85013 or at supportbarrow.org.
