A cold, wet winter storm is bearing down on Arizona and is expected to have significant impact on much of the state beginning overnight tonight.
Well over a foot of snow is forecast for the mountain areas of the state with cold temperatures bringing the snow level down as low as 2,500, which could dust the McDowell Mountains in Fountain Hills.
This storm is expected to be more powerful than the one that past earlier this week which also left a dusting of snow on the McDowells and brought about a quarter inch of rain in the area. The forecast for this storm calls for up to two inches of rain in some areas.

The weather pattern is expected to move through by late Friday, but leaving a cool weekend in its wake.
If traveling prepare for bad weather conditions particularly in the mountains and drive with caution.
