Make a Difference Oct. 21

The Town of Fountain Hills is inviting residents to join their friends and neighbors to help out for the 15th annual Make a Difference Day in the community Saturday, Oct. 21.

Each year hundreds of volunteers take on household projects to improve the lives of members of the community who are elderly or infirmed.

“The Make a Difference Day event will need town volunteers to unite and serve Fountain Hills’ residents who could use assistance with a variety of interior and exterior projects,” said Kim Wickland, Town of Fountain Hills volunteer coordinator.

Work projects include raking and cleaning up landscape debris, building exterior wheelchair ramps, minor interior and exterior home repairs, weed control and whatever else needs to be done.

Volunteers come in all ages including Daisy and Cub scouts, active seniors and church organizations. Interested individuals are also encouraged to volunteer and will be assigned to a team.

The registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 13. Visit fountainhillsaz.gov/madd to register as a volunteer.

“This is a great opportunity to strengthen ties in the community as well as address existing needs,” Wickland said. “We all can make a difference.”
