The 10th annual Make a Difference Day event takes place this Saturday, Oct. 27, with volunteers mustering at the Saguaro Ramada in Golden Eagle Park (south end near the high school) at 7:30 a.m.

Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7:30 a.m., check in with their project coordinator and grab a bite to eat before hitting the road at 8 a.m.

The Town of Fountain Hills Volunteer Coordinator Heather Ware has lined up more than 40 projects and additional volunteers will be able to register on-site at the park to join a team, or register online at fh.az.gov.

The town’s award winning Make a Difference Day program brings together the community to help out those in need of assistance.

The Make a Difference Day event serves Fountain Hills residents who could use assistance with a variety of projects in their homes and yards.

“We are looking for volunteers and also for residents who, due to many different reasons – health, financial, lack of transportation and family and more – may need a hand with landscaping, painting, repairing, cleaning, building a wheel chair ramp and installing grab bars, hauling debris, and other minor home projects,” said Ware.

“This event is about neighbors helping neighbors,” Ware said. “It will make a difference in the lives of vulnerable residents as well as the volunteers who participate.”

The Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is putting together a team of volunteers for Make a Difference Day.

Chamber members, friends, family and coworkers are invited to join the team to help someone in the community in need of assistance.
