A Fountain Hills man was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after he was pulled from a swimming pool at a residence in the 16500 block of Palisades Boulevard.
Fountain Hills Asst. Fire Chief Dave Ott said firefighters were called out at approximately 4:30 p.m. after an adult male was found distressed in the pool.
When firefighters arrived the man was alert and breathing on his own. Minutes earlier he had been swimming in the pool when neighbors notice him sinking to the bottom.
Ott said neighbors dove in and pulled him from the pool and started CPR. He responded immediately and began coughing and spitting up water. He was transported to SHC-Shea as a precautionary measure.
Warmer weather means everyone should be more vigilant around swimming pools and water, particularly where children are involved, Ott said.
