There were some tense moments outside the Circle K/McDonald's at Shea and Saguaro boulevards late Wednesday afternoon as a 20-year-old stabbed a Sheriff's posse car with a large butcher knife sporting an eight-inch blade.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the man, identified as Zachary Jacobson, targeted the fully marked posse unit because he "hates the police."
During a subsequent interview with Sheriff's deputies, Jacobson said he intentionally targeted the car and wanted to send a message to everyone.

Jacobson, according to the statement, was originally spotted jumping on the hood of the posse car holding the large blade. Possemen, at gun point, then ordered Jacobson to drop the knife, at which point he stabbed the hood of the patrol unit, piercing the metal.
"This is a scary time for all law enforcement," said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in a statement.
"We are dealing with a war on cops; people are randomly shooting our law enforcement officials; then this guy targets a fully marked Sheriff's vehicle to send a message."
Jacobson was booked into the 4th Avenue jail on criminal damage charges, and will possibly face other charges.
