In a letter to The Times on Nov. 26, Virginia Zabella, wife of Board of Directors member Leo Zabella, of the Courtside Villas Homeowners Association, wrote a compliment to the property manager of the HOA.
In it she made a false statement that there have been no increases in service fees to our HOA in 14 years.
In fact, VIP Property Management has made increases amounting to 66 percent in the last 10 years alone. From public records on hand since 2005, the management fee was $7938/year, and has now increased to a whopping $13,197/year, and will be rising again in 2015.

And commensurately our HOA fees have risen about 37 percent to cover these increased costs, while losing some previously provided amenities which are no longer affordable.
A more affordable contract with a new management provider would allow our nice little community to direct funds to much-needed infrastructure improvements that have long been neglected in Courtside Villas.
Our development needs to be served by cost-effective management so that we can continue to improve our property, and so that we maintain and increase property values. After all, supposedly this is the goal of an HOA.
