Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has plans for improved community engagement in Fountain Hills

System implementation set to begin in June

The Town of Fountain Hills has announced that starting in June the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will increase its focus on community engagement as part of an effort to strengthen relationships and improve public safety.

“As part of this initiative in cooperation with the town, select deputies will be dedicated to connecting with local business owners and residents, listening to concerns, answering questions, and sharing updates about what’s happening in neighborhoods across Fountain Hills,” the announcement states. “Residents may notice deputies patrolling more frequently on bicycles as they engage directly with the community.”

According to MCSO Capt. Kevin Thomas, District 7 commander in Fountain Hills, beginning in mid-June the Sheriff’s Office will initiate a new work schedule in Fountain Hills. This scheduling will include an additional squad of personnel that will overlap with other shifts allowing for increased community engagement.
