Marine Corps League Detachment at festival

In honor of the United States Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day, the Marine Corps League Detachment 1439 will honor all fallen Marines with a presence during the Fountain Festival of Arts and Crafts, Nov. 11-13.

Stop by and visit with the group, then wear the Marine Rose proudly. The roses are dedicated “In memory of those who served, forever remembered.”

Started by Marine Eddie Gallagher from New York, designed to parallel the VFW “Poppy” program to provide funds for detachments to assist veterans and youth and provide other services to the community.

Marine Corps League Detachment at festival

In honor of the United States Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day, the Marine Corps League Detachment 1439 will honor all fallen Marines with a presence during the Fountain Festival of Arts and Crafts, Nov. 11-13.

Stop by and visit with the group, then wear the Marine Rose proudly. The roses are dedicated “In memory of those who served, forever remembered.”

Started by Marine Eddie Gallagher from New York, designed to parallel the VFW “Poppy” program to provide funds for detachments to assist veterans and youth and provide other services to the community.

Support programs include:

*Assist wounded veterans and provide health and comfort items for hospitalized veterans.

*Scholarships.

*Humanitarian aid.

*Assist local youth programs.

The Detachment is also the local official drop-off point for Toys for Tots during the fair. Visitors are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a child during the Art Fair. They will also accept gift cards and cash.
