Marshallie Wade, 82, beloved wife of Roger C. Wade, Sr. passed away quietly on the evening of Dec. 29, 2016 in Fountain Hills following a year-long recovery from major surgery.
Marshallie and Roger were married on Aug. 29, 1954 spending an exciting 62 plus years together as a loving couple.
She was preceded in death by a son, John (“John-John”) Christopher Wade. She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Cindy Lynn Backes of Fountain Hills; son, Roger C. Wade, Jr. of San Diego, Calif; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Marshallie graduated with her many friends from Chaffey Union High School in 1954. She was employed for a few years at the GE flat iron plant in Ontario prior to the birth of her daughter, Cindy.
Marshallie was an exceptional cook and dinner host, but her best moments were being known as the “cookie lady from Upland.”
Loved by all who knew her, Marshallie and Roger were members of tight groups of friends who traveled, partied and camped in their RV in the seven western states and Hawaii. She will be remembered and sorely missed by all her family, friends and acquaintances.
A memorial service will be held in the Bellevue Cemetery Chapel in the original mausoleum building, 1240 W. “G” Street, Ontario, CA at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. Services will be conducted by Rev. Beverly (Matthews) Kjelberg from Oregon City, Ore.
Marshallie shall be buried in the same plot with her mother, Gertrude, and her son, John. There will be no graveside services.
