Marvin was born in 1930 and was raised on a farm in the northwestern part of North Dakota. He was a graduate of Minot State College in Minot, N.D.
He was a teacher and an elementary school principal for both the North Dakota and Minnesota public school systems, totaling 37 years of service.
Marvin and his wife of 60 years, Teresa, raised their family in Parkers Prairie, Minn., where he was an active member of his community. Marvin and his wife retired to Fountain Hills 16 years ago.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Teresa; his four children, Gary (Louise) Dahl of Montrose, Colo.; Karla (Don) Primosch of Fountain Hills; Marilyn (Johnnie) Miller of Draper, Utah; David (Kim) Dahl of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; as well as a sister, Mae (Morris) Ludwig of Minot, N.D. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marvin was a member of the Church of the Ascension Catholic Church in Fountain Hills.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 12615 N. Fountain Hills Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or St. Vincent de Paul.
