Mary Jane Ferring

Mary Jane Ferring, resident of Rio Verde/Arizona, formerly of Dubuque/Ia, passed away peacefully on Feb 7th, 2026 at the age of 91. Jane, was born April 25th, 1934 in Dubuque Ia to Eugene and Helen McMahon. She married Bob Ferring in 1954 and remained married for 64 years until Bob’s passing in 2018. Jane and Bob discovered the beautiful paradise of Rio Verde in 1978 and eventually built a home in 1985. Jane viewed the Rio Verde community like family and enjoyed every minute she was able to live there. Pursuing her lifelong love of music, she played piano for the St Dominic Mission Catholic Church at Rio Verde and also directed the Catholic Choir and organized the weekly music for many of those years. She also was a valued member of the Fountain Hills Community Chorus and joined them on a number of international trips. Her cheery smile and sweet disposition were loved by family, friends, and all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 5th at St. Dominic Catholic Mission, Rio Verde, Az at 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to Verde Cares, the Andre House, Esperanza, or charity of your choice¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬. A reception will follow immediately in the church hall.
